think this radiator hose kit is worth 100 bucks?

I'm looking at these and trying to deside if I should get them.

There right at 100 bucks or so after shipping.
Do you think it's worth it?

I'm working on adding pretty stuff to my engine bay now.

Sence I dumped my EFI I don't have the pretty intake or the cold air intake anymore.
Basicly trying to add some flash sence I spent so much time making the bay so clean install wise.

I like it. I was thinking of getting one of those myself and I don't even care that it's chrome and pretty. I just like the rigid construction compared to rubber.

Hell, it's only water. You could go to the local plumbing supply store and get a regular ole' pipe bender to make these. Good idea!

powder coat them maybe? Doesn't some where sell a powder coating kit that you can use a old oven to cook parts?

if they were made from aluminium you could anodize them with a batt. charger and food coloring.
I've done this with paintball gun parts before and it does a pro job.

It's fairly easy to do small parts. It does take alittle practice though.
So when i post it be sure you start trying using spare parts untill you get the hang of it.

They are worth $100 as much as one of my GF's oufits are. I dont even they look that good. Stick with Rubber and buy a new interior carpet or a couple cans of paint and clean up the interior which you actually see.

Besides the fact that they are real pretty, they do have a good function that they prevent the hoses from collapsing durring sudden pulls from the water pump.

I couldnt tell you the number of sub 10 second passes i have seen on rubber hoses. I dont think thats really a problem.
If you got some money burning a hole i guess....

If you bake powdercoat ina gas oven , the oven will explode from the flamible fumes the powder coat gives off during curing process.

Thos ARE NOT worth 100 bucks! No way, no how. I could make those for less than 25 bucks if I had a tubing bender. I see rubber hoses on plenty of race cars and they seem to not have the problem of hoses sucking closed.

Hoses can suck closed if the hose is old and weak and the coolant system is properly maintained. Those are rice-bling. Even the FRPP Blue Hose kit is not neccisary. Blue hose kit exists only becasue the police departmetns thought they needed them. FYI - the blue hose kit is a high sylicone content hose and is supposed to last longer.

Rubber hoses cost like $25 bucks for all 3 that the engine uses. You could buy 4 sets for that $100 dollars and you will get 75,000 plus miles from each set. That's over 300,000 miles. The value just isn't there.

Yeah, I know, I was just saying that is suposed to be the advantage of metal hoses. I've never had any problem with the rubber hoses.

Forget these guys....if you want your engine to look nice go ahead and buy them. If you are considering it the money is probably not an issue. If your car needs tires or something functional maybe you could spend the money a litle more wisely. Otherwise, get 'em. Personally I think I'd pass. I likr them though!

Well here's where I stand on these.

I think I'm going to make my own. I just purchased a powder coating setup.
(I had planed on buying one of these anyway)

I stoped by my buddies shop on the way home and got him to let me use his exhaust bender this weekend.
So I'm going to fab these myself.

Basicly except for paint my car is done.
New interior
New motor
New trany
new tires and rims

Being I dumped the EFI I don't have as much stuff under my hood as the most of you.
Basicly I'm shooting for filling in the empty looking space now.

Didn't mean to start a flame war over some hoses.
I guess to each is own.
However the way I look at it after sinking all the bucks I have in this thing a 100 bucks is nothing.

Although I do see making them myself a better value.
+ who knows if I figure it out I might beable to toss a couple sets to those that are interested way cheaper than 100 bucks a set
