Thinking about an S2000

What does everyone think? I'm considering selling the notchback and purchasing a Honda S2000. I test drove one and the thing would eat my notchback alive. The handling is incredible, yeah it's low one torque but has great top end. It's pretty good on gas (25-27 overall mpg) and has rock solid reliability.

Should I do it or not?

if you can afford it and that is what you want go for it. it's the only honda I would drive.

I'm sure the handling is amazing but I just couldn't drive a car that ugly. Then again I think miatas,z3's and z4's are ugly. I guess I'm just not a huge fan of the 2 seater small sports cars like that. I'm sure it would be a blast to drive though.

A very lightly modded notch with a decent driver should take an S2000 no problem. That doesn't matter though. If you even consider getting rid of a notch for an import, you don't deserve the notch anyway. So I say do it.

Thats what I am sayin. What is wrong with your notch that makes it slow? It would absolutely not eat your notch, not without a lot more money.

Everyone that I have known that has had one for a DD say they hate them.... Not enough down low to have any fun with. It really has to be reved past 5500 to have any fun. Why not get a miata and put a 408 in it?

If you want a roadster w/ balls get a miata and drop a 302 in it.

have fun if its your DD...i could not stand to drive something that effin small...no room for anything at all. practicality of an S2000 is even less than that of a Mustang. all its got going for it is fuel mileage and handling.

I watched when they tested it on TV and said the complete lack of Torque really took away from the driving experience as did not having enough space to Rev it to get in the power band.

I like the, but they are slow. A close to stock notch should take one easy,hell I took my bosses in my vert when it only had gears and exhaust and I have a good 400lbs on you.

The first time I drove one I thought it might be cool, boy was I in for a disspointment! Just kidding, I wasn't really excited, and it was lame anyways. Saying that it "pulls" when VTEC hits or whatever is a gross overstatement.

I was talking more on the lines of overall performance. Yes, straight line the notch can hang but if you throw in turns and a bunch of chicanes stock for stock the S2000 would win by a good margin.

I just like to keep an open mind about cars. I like everything from domestic, european, import etc. I try not to limit myself.

I have had several Honda vehicles , prelude, civiv si, crx si, intergra....best was the prelude. They were all good cars. Buy the S 2000, keep the coupe. You will be ready to sell the S-2000 in about 3 months , and you will be glad that you kept your mustang.

Your talking about comparing apples to oranges, your mustang has 20 year old tech. for suspension vs. a new honda.... grow a pair and keep the mustang

aren't they low 14's from factory those s2000's? For a fun little car I'd get an Evo before ANY stupid Honda, unless Honda grows some balls and slap in a Vtec 10,000rpm redline DOHC V8 in their FACTORY cars lol That would be pretty cool, I got to admit.

Honda causes so much farting noises in the world, I wonder if they should pay a special noise pollution tax.
