you need clutch pedals from a 94/95 (the 96+hydroboost pedals are a tad different)

computer or a tune (however your auto computer will run it just fine if ur in a pinch, it will hesatate a little when it wants to shift the auto

the reason for the different input shaft on the 94/95 is the bellhousing is longer. so if you go with a fox piece also go with their bellhousing and you wont have to worry about that.

auto's use a flexplate, so you will need a new flywheel. the auto crossmember works fine with the 5speed

i think the problem is no one wants to build an AODE or can even find someone trustworthy to build one for them for a decent price.

and the cost of a 5speed is most likely less and more fun in a street car

i feel like my t5 is just ticking , i wish their was some cheap upgrades for it, gforce/astro tranny seems to be only option for it tho. and since mine is cobra spec....i dont know whear im going to get bronze coated sychros when it comes time for a rebuild, this is still one unanswered question, i may make an independant thread on this. eh sorry not tryna thread jack

There is actually a tranny shop near me that carries a hell of a lot of t5 parts, where i got my syncro's and gears and well a lot of stuff for my tranny when I did my rebuild. I could call them up see if they can get it and how much and let you know?

You had me until the last part. Once you've driven a BUILT automatic with a nice stall you might change your mind. I know I did. I was a diehard 5-speed person until I bought this car. I thought about the swap a lot. Until I finally was forced into a GOOD build. Wow.... :nice:

im sure with a strong engine, built tranny with shift kit and a good stall convertor, 4.10s and a hammer shifter an auto is a blast. my first car was a c-4 and i had a b&m mega shifter in it and i loved it. no worries about missing a shift. the hammer shifter is a lot like a manual getting to hold it in gear and ratchet it up to the next gear. i sometimes miss my aode especially when i have to be in a lot of traffic.

as far as doing the swap, you will need a t-5 harness with the t4mo computer. while your at it get a aluminum clutch quadrant and firewall adjuster. do not get an adjustable cable. get one from maximum motorsports. recommend getting a aftermarket shifter also and save your self headaches and get the correct tranny for our cars. they are not hard to find. i found mine on corral.net used with 60,000 miles on it for 450 bucks with the bellhousing. i would also get a new shift fork and the pivot bolt too. had the tranny looked at before i put it in and it was mint.

well i'm not going to swap out to a t-5. i like my aode it pulls hard in all gears and its easy to drive. i raced a kid with a 98 mustang gt 5 speed and i had him by .1 at the 60 ft. but when i shifted to 2nd my tires chirped and i lost ground. he had me at the 1/8 mile by a .1 but i closed him down and he only beat me by .006 so i'm going to supercharge my motor and if all goes well get a new lentech in a year
