I emailed my engine builder back and he hasn't emailed me back yet about why he suggested the stroker kit. Did some more research and it seems that almost every Rep company offers one so 40z, they can't really be all that bad. If MMR, Lethal, Livernois, DSS etc all offer them.

Companies sell what customers want to buy. If you built 4.6 engines for a living and every day you had someone ask you for a stroker kit, how many times would you get into an argument with a customer about why that's not a good idea before you just just set them up, deposit the check, and go on with your business?

True but remember their Rep is still on the line.

Anyhow, got an email back from the builder and he is thinking

Aluminum Block
Trick Flow Heads
Stock Bore and Stroke with Forged Internals (if i boost later)
Custom Cal Cams
10:1 Compression
Full exhaust

He estimates about 315rwhp or so but I am thinking of doing a KB now after everyone pointed out how much more it would be and the builder said passing smog might get hard with a choppy idle.

Trick flow heads + Forged internals + KB = Could be might future, will have to wait and see.

If different is the route you want, then it is up to you.

In my honest opinion, you are dumping a ton of money down the drain with that build. A TON of money.

Couldnt agree more. At this point, I'd just sell and buy a newer, faster car.
