Got pulled over the first time the other day, my fault though. I saw a cop drive by with his window down and forgetting how loud my magnaflow can be when i open it up i floor it...well needless to say he hears me and turns around to pace me, but i wasn't speeding i just wanted to hear the exhaust i was only doing about 40 in a 45..so he was just like slow down he was real nice about it. Anyway, now i'm paranoid and i took by my beltronics 955 3 days ago to get a Nintendo wii lol: ) and because i thought it sucked. i read a lot of good things about the escort x50 on here and i know there's other threads on it but i wanted to get everyone's current opinoin on the product. and i definatley don't have the money for a valentine one

The X50 is a very good detector. I personally have an Escort Solo S2 and love it. I had heard that being cordless impairs the detector to give you earlier warnings but after looking at numerous reviews I found that this one is actually as good as a lot of the top corded units. Plus the convenience of no cord makes it very easy to take from car to car .

I've got the x50 and it's awesome. I've heard good things about the V1 also, but it's about $100 more than the x50.

I know you mentioned that the v1 is too expensive. Someone gave me one when I graduated school, can't say enough good things about it. Having the arrows to tell you where the radar is a huge benefit. The range still blows me away after having it for a year. I also have the concealed display which is pretty cool.

Having said that $400 is a ton of money for a radar detector, not sure that I would have bought it for myself.

What about not "opening up and flooring it" when a cop goes by? That might have helped you more than a radar detector. Seeing as how you weren't speeding? Or am I missing something?

I love my x50.. use it everyday and its a beast. rarely do i see a cop without it going off.. just turn the k band off and your set. look on ebay.. 320 ish u can get one new.. or find somebody u know who works at bestbuy (what i did) and they can get it for 210.. the v1 is big, ugly, and expensive
