I have put together a new setup for this season, but it isnt together yet. forged 10:1 306 afr185's custom edcurtis cam .600/.570 230*/236*@.050 110 lsa edelbrock rpm 2 70 mm tb, 30# inj longtubes off road h, ultraflows, dumps, manual rack etc. I am thinking that I may sell my intake, injectors, tb, mass air meter (75mm pro m) Tweecer RT, laptop, a9l and all related sefi pieces and go carb. I am sick of trying to play around with the eec to get the damn thing to run right, and that was on my old mild setup. I have read that carbs are generally more powerful than efi on the same motor. Is this true? I realize the mileage per gallon will be less, but at this point with these heads and cam, who cares! Has anyone here done this, and what is all involved? I think I could come out of such a conversion with money left over after I sell all related efi components Is such a conversion going to be less of a headache when I am done, and easier to work with, or am I just going to set myself up for a bigger head ache?? Thanks

Also what type of carb intake would be a fair replacement for the RPM2, and what type and size of carb would be the right fit??

TODAY... Like NOW, there are a lot of tuning pro's and computer wizbangs out there to get the F/I working Killer!! But.. If the equipment and guys arent close to you.. then the Carb IS the way!! Why?? cause YOU change all the parimiters your self... Fuel, ign timing,CFM intake .. all the things the "puter did!! and it is cheaper.. for now!! But there IS a learning curve.. when was the last time you modified a Holley, or spun in a Dizzy??

Also a hell of a lot cheaper.!!

Just me........................

My car went with fuel injection 13.7 and took that all off put on a holley 650 doublepumper and weiland 8011 intake. Went 13.299 twice. Same slicks and it was hotter when I used the carb. by 14degress. If you dont mind the get in and go on cold days (you cant do that with a carb unless it has a choke) or use a carb. with a choke. Carbs are like alot of stuff you get what you pay for.

What you need is fuel pump, regulator and 6an lines or bigger. The holley blue pump has the reg. with it an is a good pump. You will also need the tube in the tank for it to pick up fuel or get a rear sump welded on your tank. It helps if you get the dist. that works off of the msd box. Thats about it.
