Hey guys ...
anyone here have any experience with the F303 cam? Im planning to install it into the 5.0 block that im building, along with trick flow twisted wedge heads, kb flat tops, etc. is the F303 cam a good choice? The specs look pretty good...and from the 110 LSA it shuld have a great shoppy idle. thanks for the help!

I put mine in about 2 months ago. I went from the E to the F. because it was cheap and I like the choppy idle it has. Overall it's ok, nothing changed performance wise but I like it.

well im running the stock 302 cam in it right now. will the F303 cam make a night and day difference in performance? do you have mostly top end power, mid or low end power from the F cam?

F cam is heavy in the high end..low end will suffer..cam is more for gears/head/intake cars components to get the car out of the lower RPM faster so you can get into the power. Going form stock cam to F cam with stock or close to stock set up will yeild some..but certainly not "night and day" change..10 to 20 hp at the very best.

I have the F cam edelbrock performer heads and a tmoss ported intake, I also have stock gears. My low end sucks but it pulls great up top. The idle is really lopey also.

Are gears on the top of your shopping list?

the f cam should pull hard up top, but with stock gears your low end will suffer.

A set of gears will make up for the lost low end and get you to the powerband quick

and it should sound pretty damn lopey and mean, by looking at the specs

I just got an F-303 off E-bay but now im thinking of keeping my E-303 in my Ranger as I want the low end power not the top end power. If you are intrested I will sell it for what i paid for it ( $110.00 ) and I will ship it to you for free also long as you are in the lower 48. I can take credit card throu Pay Pal ect... Just let me know if you are interested. you can e-mail me at DYB3and8@stny.rr.com Just put F-303 in subject line of your e-mail so I will know not to delet it.

i agree with everyone on the significant top end and very lopey idle. does anyone else with the f303 get surges almost like you're revving it when you start up? my buddies got one in his 94 cobra with heads and 410s and when he starts it up it surges to about 2 grand a few times then just starts loping.

Not to ruin your day but Ive driven a car with a E-cam and an F-cam. Both have ****ty low end power and are really mushy below 3000rpm's. The F has more power up high though. One of the best things you can do with these cams is match them with gears and it will help out trmendously. The Idle is just plain intimidating too.
