I'm seriously considering not selling my 67' coupe.

I need some inspiration on what do with it?

I know I want it flat black with some 17" cobra wheels.

Does anyone have pictures of the 94-98 stock cobra rims or satin cobra r's on a classic?

Engine well I pulled it out along with the tranny this weekend.

What should I do here? 5.0 efi with aod or t-5?? I'll eventually add a supercharger :)

I have a 9 inch rear with 3.89 gears and disc brakes I can use also.

I need some info on the flaming river rack. Should I get it. how well does it drive. Steering really soft or not? is 1150 with column to my house a good price?

give me knowledge please................................................... :flag:

Yeah I know I should finish project DOHC Eleanor first. Thats a long term goal now. Maybe by the end of the year. The coupe I can have back on the road within a month once I decide what I really want. :D

A pointed question: Is this a fantasy or a possibility? How many cars have you actually finished?

LOL :rlaugh:

I've finished a few but I have never done it as extensive as the fastback hence why it's taking so long for me. Not an easy chore to do what I have done so far on it alone/help from internet resources/people who have done it before. :hail2:

It has cost me my blood and sweat to piece it together. Resources can be given to you but if your not willing to use them well they are worthless.

I'm learning along the way on it.

I see the coupe as a possibility to have some nice things on it to use as a nice driver where as the fastback will still need some time before it is road worthy.

Today I threw a new block on the stand and will begin the construction of the motor tomorrow, for the coupe.

Everything mentioned that I plan on doing to the coupe I have done before to the fastback. Just a matter of refreshing my memory.

BTW SD you should know a car is never actually finished :nice:

Oh yeah i thought it was quite funny how you mentioned fantasy when I just finished listening to my neighbors rant about how he wants to build his chevelle up with a twin turbo ls1 engine 8 speed tranny independent rear and then sell it for 20 grand and buy tools to build another car.

Talk about fantasy. He's 18 without a job and little to no education hasn't finished highschool.

I set my goals and always achieve them. Thanks for making me think my project through SD :)

I'd say go for it Sal! :nice: With the parts I saw sitting around you house, you could build up one nice daily driver coupe. Get the 5.0 you have together (efi or not), and bolt one of those autos you got up to it. I would say get a manual in there, but you might spend more time becuase you'll have to find a T-5 unless you wanna get T-45 to fit. Besides, the auto will be nice for a DD, and if you ever get tired of it, you can always change it. As for the rear, the 9" would work, but if you don't have disk in the front, I'd either swap the disk to drums, or not use it at all(I think it would look funny with disk in the rear and drums in the front). As long as you don't hit any real problems, I think this goal of a month is do able. I'm all for this one! :nice: :nice:

Thanks for the encouragement Sean.

Ha yeah I know I have lots and lots of parts amazing how the stuff just gathers. You didn't even get to check what I have in the basement. 2 more efi intakes computers 2 more roller blocks wiring etc.

what do you mean about the rear disc brakes?

I have the set up already for the rear and the car has front disc brakes installed. I even have an extra set complete if you know anyone. Hey did you still want those motor mounts I found the reciept.

 I ment to say that if the front were drums, then change the disk on the 9" to drums, cause having drums in the front and disk in the rear just doesn't look right (yes, I have seen it before :nonono: ); but that doesn't matter since you do have disks in the front. Now are you saying that you have an extra set of disks for the front??? I've kind of be playing with the idea of putting some disks in the front; more so now being that my car will be faster then it has ever been. However, it will have to wait til the car is back on the road again.

Sell it. It doesn't sound like you're committed to the project. If you need encouragement or inspiration from others, you'll never finish it, and will have wasted a bunch of dough...

If you're just kind of tired of looking at it, cover it up for awhile and start looking at magazines and go to a few shows for inspiration.

Thats the spirit quiting :notnice:

money is only a material thing it's the least important of my worries, not saying I have tons of it Sean can vouch for that, it's just not as important to me as other people.

Having money means nothing if you can't enjoy it yourself or with those close to you.

Tired of looking at it? How'd you come up with that?

By inspiration I meant give some idea guys of what to do. How would you guys build it. etc. Not saying without it I can't go on but a little interest may be nice.

My opinion is to only have one project at a time. Get it on the road with as little work as possible. Then once you have finished your other come back to it and max it out. YEAH BABY!

Parts on hand.

Anything your little heart desires.LOL

Seriously anything from a basic stock 5.0 efi to a NA 400 hp efi, tranny's aod,t-45,t-56, t-5, rear 8.8 with discs, 8.8 withou disc, 8 inch drums, 8 inch with disc, 9 inch drums 9 inch disc posi. aluminum driveshaft. etc. etc.

Yeah I know I have too many parts. :)

I should be picking up a set of 17" cobras friday. Have some polished wheels and also weld's.

Basicly what I would need is the rack&pinion kit, vortech, injectors, calibrated maf?, tweecer, and fuel pump. Nothing major.

PB so you think I should just do a stock 5.0 efi with aod 3.89 9 inch rear 4 wheel disc and rack&pinion? Just basics?

Bart you also have a point about just having a project at a time. Then you don't know what goes where.
