as you can see in my sig, i'm currently using a upr blu thunder as my short shifter. anyways, i think its a great shifter and its held up extremely well. well, i've read and heard so much great stuff about the mgw piece i was thinking of giving it a shot. so yea, anyone have experience with both mgw and upr? also how short of a shift is mgw's compared to upr's?

MGW only offers the orange handle now. Sort of a best of the "Blue Handle" and "Red Handle" they use to offer. I'm sure it's a good shifter, just not sure how much it differs from the red and blue they use to offer. I've got the blue race shifter and it's great. Mega short shifts.

I like my MGW, have tried almost all the shifters at one point or the other and it's the one I like the best.
Now having said that I know lots of people who have tried my MGW out and didn't like it for one reason or the other.
Best advice, try and find someone locally who has one and take it for a test spin and see if you like it.

it is a great shifter. unfortunately the handles arent interchangeable because the new base is different as well. here's a pic.

An email from George...great customer service to boot!!! Start from the bottom and read up.:)

the springs are a wear item but they should last at least 30-50k miles. they will need replaced maybe every 3-4 years. if you want you can send the shifter back and i can check it over and put some new springs in it. they are a bit hard to remove on the older shifters because we used flat head screws that are quite tight. i would not want you to damage the shifter or your console trying to break them loose. i can also give it a good checkup with new grease, springs etc. for you. i can then mail it back with the new handle and all you pay for is the handle and shipping.

regards
george
