Even the CA agencies responsible don't have up-to-date info and/or can't give a clear answer.
http://www.arb.ca.gov/fuels/gasoline/cbgmtbe.htm

I found all sorts of conflicting information from that and other government(official) sources.

I have been trying to figure out why I have such a strong gas smell after running the car and I traced it to my high performance (yeah right) gas pump leaking. Looks like the gasket is leaking. After reading this thread got me thinking maybe it's the gas ruining the gasket? It's a Holley pump with less than 1,000 miles on it.

So I called Holley today to ask about a rebuild kit for their mechanical pump 12-289-11 and unfortunately they do not offer one and he said it would be impossible to rebuild the pump based on the design. Anyway, told him about my pump leaking after only a handful of years with little miles and he said he wasn't surprised, especially on a car that sits a lot like mine. Said todays fuels are made for fuel injection cars and is rough on parts like gaskets and hoses. Sucks, but seems to be the reality. So spent another $100 today with Summit to replace the damn pump.
