If I just look at her without concentrating it always counter-clockwise. If I stare at the calves for about 30 seconds it switches and stays that way until I look away, then when I look again its counter-clockwise again.

That's the only way I can get it to work .. by looking away real quick.

I can make it spin both ways. I used to do the same thing with ceiling fans while in church .

yea, i can make her go either way also. the easiest way to do this at frist is to stare at something else on the page. once you see her spinning the other way then you can make her do it any way you want.

i see nothing at all that would make sense that you could picture it going counter clockwise. i sure cant. she has a head, hair, feet, etc all that point in a certain direction when turning clockwise so how the heck do you just mentally make those things now change direction. ive tried looking away and staring at the feet but it just doesn't work. maybe i just lack that ability to see that but usually im pretty damn good with optical illusions.

the image never turns around, it just goes back and fourth. It is an illusion because the shadow tricks your brain into thinking its turning aroudn when the shadow of the foot disappears. in all honesty the image turns its side one way then reverses itself and goes to the other side

Yeah, now that i've looked at it so much, i don't even see her go all the way around anymore. She just goes clockwise to the left, then halfway, she goes counterclockwise to the right, then switches again. Watching the shadow i think is the easiest way to get her to switch.
