when i was looking at getting my truck repainted i was quoted 4k if it was left the same color, granted the truck was in pretty good shape, but around here 6k seems to be the going rate for a good paint job, i think everyone here has a very different definition of show quality, i think show quality is something like, mine would be this for show quality
and this for a factory quality

What shop did you go to for the quote? Was that 67/68 fastback painted there by any chance? From what I can see, the paint looks pretty damn nice if it was only 4k.

thats was the DD of the owner of that mach 1, he said that one cost around 6500, and said the mach 1's paint cost him north of 15 since it has custom ghost horses all over it that you cant see in the picture, but up close that blue one was a really decent paint job but you could see its imperfections up close(mostly road damage) but still damn nice IMO

Yeah, $6,500 seems like a good deal. I'm assuming the whole car was stripped down before paint and engine bay was painted as well?

BTW is that really blue? It looks purple on my screen. lol
