how much louder is the induction sound on CAI compear to removed silencer removed? I want to get those loud induction noise, and when I changed short ram on my 99 cougar, induction noise was so much louder, then my dual flowmaster exahust. anyone?

I think the cold air would not be as loud. I can slightly hear mine with a C&L MAF, INLET TUBE, and 75 T body and P/P upper intake. They will not get as loud as a 4 or 6 cyl. Plus it is hard to hear anything over my exhaust

I had the silencer removed and then got a cold air. The nose was a little bit louder. Not nearly as loud as the intake I had on my Probe. But it was pretty loud. It made a noticeable increase in power. It was worth the money if you ask me

you could look at your local dump... most people that waste money on them (any CAI) wind up tossing them in the trash after thier car goes slower.

there is NO power to be had in a CAI, its only good for looks.

can't help it. I love way induction sound. I once heard Toyota AE86 which guy put 20Valve 4A-GE with 4 individual Mikunis with velocity stacks, screaming(and I mean SCREAMING) at 8000RPM ...... my brain melted

it's not. on K20A2 honda engine for example.. yes, very worth it. not on our cars. you would've been better off with either a MAF upgrade or TB w/plenum

On my car the K&N CAI together with the 70mm tb made the car significantly louder especially at wide open throttle.
