ive a got a DSS shortblock with there main support system, and im trying to figure out what to use for a dipstick? problem is once it goes through the block it needs about a 45* bend so it will clear the main support (or else it jams right into the crank). so first i bought the Lokar, wouldn't work to strong of material to bend. second i tried the factory 94-95 style, was not long enough to do anything with. so now what? 87-93 style?

i had this problem. we ended up going to the local parts store and buying a generic billet one. we bent the end of the stick in one direction to get it to clear. It was a PITA. i pretty much just marked the stick and the tube with a sharpie so i know how to put it back in so it won't hit the crank.

good luck!

I got tired of messing with it and just broke off the flexy part of the stock dipstick. The directions said to use an allen wrench to gain leverage on the bottom of the dipstick tube though.

I dont drive the car much (been in the garage since late Sep. early Oct. anyway. So I change the oil before it even gets low...plus there is the low oil light tha comes on if it gets that low.

I am totaly happy with the quality and parts used in my DSS pro bullit 306 shortblock. I dont think the level 10-20 stuff is anything more than snake oil and the main support is I thought of it not going to hurt and no extra cost. I was just happy it had ARP main studs.
