Thoughts on this '71 Mustang Mach 1

Howdy!

I've got my eye on this '71 Mustang Mach 1, and I'd like to know your thoughts. Heres the scoop: $10,000 and it's transported to me from California (to Wisconsin), no AC (how much do these cost to get one put in??), needs carpet replaced (I can see rust underneath, but I found a rust-only remover which could take care of that, don't know much about the engine other than it's a 351 Cleveland (what kind of HP do these produce?).

Here's some pic's (attached, (ignore the Plymoth wagon remarks on the photo titles, I didn't do it...). Let me know if you think it's worth it...

not bad...there is a 71 mach 1 right by my house (well there are 2 actually) and one is going for $12k and the other is like $14. $10k isnt a bad deal at all as long as it isnt a complete fixerupper but it looks pretty clean on the outside.

be careful the floorboard isnt rusting out. might need to get them welded in for support. ive always loved the look of those cars and i wish i saw the one by my house 5 years ago when i bought my stang for about the same price

Here's a couple of pic's of the inside. I can see the rust (if you look close by the left hand side of the driver's seat where it is bolted in front), but how bad I don't know because of the carpet. I wouldn't have a problem getting support welded in it. Let me know what you think. (I can see getting new carpet)

I'd like to put some of those white guages in place of the speedometor etc, but I haven't found anywhere that carries them (with some nice red LED backlighting...)

I'd be a little careful if there are the only pictures you have. I almost bought a 67 fastback last year from a dealership in Wisc based on their website. The car had great paint, and there were no pics of the interior on the site. I ended up driving 3.5 hours up there to be disappointed. They did a ****ty job 'repainting' over the old paint, although everything else on the outside looked pretty good. The doors didn't have interior handles, the floor pan and trunk pan had holes in them, and half of the interior console was missing... That's right, completely gone. Anyway, I'd be wary unless you can get pictures of every square inch of this car since you can't see it yourself in person.
Good luck.
