Last night when I cranked my car up after sitting for 4 days it idled rough and the check engine light came on. I took it about a mile up the road and it had absolutely NO power, it ran fine though.

I plugged the SCT in and it threw a code, I didn't write it down and I have forgotten it now (I know, stupid). But anyway I reflashed the car and guess what? The light went off the DCT was gone and the car runs like a raped ape again.

I have been noticing a loss of power every couple weeks without a reflash but this is the first time the car has threw a code. What gives?

I had LT headers installed 3 or 4 weeks ago and haven't reflashed since then. I'm guessing the code was a lean condition but I don't understand why this happens.

The tune is set for the headers and I've also had Brent disable the adaptive learning in the past because of the car falling on it's face a couple weeks after a flash.

This is starting to piss me off though, I never know how much power the car is going to have from day to day. If I had of been somewhere last night a long way from home without the tuner I may have been in bad shape.:nonono:

It happened again. The code is p2196 which is "o2 sensor stuck rich". When I reflash the code goes away and the car runs strong.

So what's the deal hear? Do I have a bad o2 sensor or wire or is the computer rejecting my tunes. I believe this problem is related to the loss of power that I've been noticing between reflashes all along. I've been noticing this ever since I started tuning the car a year and a half ago. But now it's worse. The reflashes have to be done every couple of days now or the car runs like crap and has no power.

I'm going to take it by the dealership the first chance I get. Any opinions?

I believe that is a HO2S 11 or 21 (Front right or front left) stuck rich. Even if you get bank specific it could be a couple of things. It could be a intermittent electrical short in the wiring somewhere making it think its stuck rich. It could be a injector on bank 1 or injectors on bank 1 stuck open for a period longer than specified by the H02 monitor. I think you have the right idea taking it in to the dealership. Just make sure you save and flash to stock before you take it into the dealer if your dealer isn't cool with modding.

Edit: Thats bank 1 sensor 1 stuck rich.

Well they didnt fix it because they don't know what to fix. Told me to bring it back the next time it throws the code and not to reflash it this time.

This is probably gonna end up being a PITA

If they try and tell you that again, tell them that went to auto zone or something and had them read it and they accidently cleared the code. Then give them the code you recieved and ask them to start from there. If he is a factory trained tech he can look at the Mode 6 data and some of the PID's (Parameter Identifiers(SP?) to tell whats going on.

Well the CEL came on again yesterday so I left it at the dealership this morning. We'll see what happens today.

Good to hear. I am suprised they didn't try to blame it on your mods.

Yea I was afraid it might be a damaged o2 wire from the exhaust swap but apparantly it wasn't. But the service guys at my dealership are real cool anyway about the mods I've done. I straight up told them everything that I said in my first post here in this thread and they never gave me any hassle.

It all depends on the dealer.
