Throttle body advice!

Hey everyone!! I've just ordered the JLT cai/sct 2 combo. Now im looking at throttle bodies. Which of these two should i get. LFP or BBK. Does the fact that LFP has brass gears rather than plastic from BBK?

I have the LFP and now I have to send it back, because of it binding and making the car go into limp home mode. They are suppose to send me another one. This also happened to a Granetili throttle body. I haven't had any experience with the bbk product. I think the bbk is cast, my LFP throttle body is made billet alumium. Also the gear in the bbk are plastic(which is actually better) and the gears in the LFP are brass.(Some reason the brass gears bind up) But with the throttle body it did pick up 12hp and 10 torque on the dyno.

Throttle body= waste of cash unless you have serious boost.

well if figure that people get 12hp and 10 torque to the wheels thats not bad, if you want to go N/A.

If you want to go na, I just don't see how a new tb will do any good without head work. I've heard the stories about the modest gains with these new throttle bodies that REQUIRE NO TUNE. Everyone should know that any meaningfull increase in airflow to the 3-valve must have the pcm reflashed or the lean condition and codes will ruin your day. I've also been told that a lot of initial hp gains from such add ons are soon lost after the pcm sorts out the change that has been made. It will actually make adjustments to offset any modest changes. Someone correct me if I'm wrong, I thought this was fairly clear.

no the pcm will try and adapt to the new parts. That is why it is recommended to clear your long term fuel trim after installing parts. Know that the pcms are more sensitive to changes they sometimes require a tune so that the car doesn't go into limp home mode. Some minor to mild mods do not require a tune. Some do. It's just that the new mustangs are sensitive to change. the pcm will adapt to the increase in flow and change to the fuel trim,spark, etc. In a generic sense, every car is different. Like I said some mods require a tune and some do not.

The pcm does not adapt to parts you install as much as it adapts to commands from a tune along with them. Why would a Steeda CAI require a tuner with a custom tune if the pcm adapted so well with parts? I see what you are saying, but sigifigant airflow gains require a tune, so when they claim no tune needed, it's not doing much. My car has the stock TB and breathes well. Do a little head porting, cams, then maybe bigger gains from the TB, maybe.
