Will a stock intake manifold require porting with a 70mm tb? Is 70mm the right size for a mild engine?

To put a 70mm on your stock intake, it will need to be port matched to do it the right way. You dont need a TB now, you need exhaust and gears first.

Good advice...Take it...

If you did get a larger TB after the gears & exhaust, 65 MM is all you need. A 70MM TB is for more cubic inches or forced induction. A larger TB also means a larger EGR spacer if you are in an area that has smog inspections.

yea i wouldn't pout on a TB until you've got more in the motor. Even then you should go with a 65 instead of the 70 unless you put some serious work in the motor. Unless the motor has work in it you'll lose power by putting on a throttle body.

Nope not true. Thats an internet myth. Proper way to do it is match your TB to the inlet size of your manifold. 75mm might not be much better if at all better than a 65mm or 70mm on some cars, but if your manifold is 75mm, 75mm is the best choice. Dont believe the "you'll lose low end tq" internet myth.
