Just put a new Ford throttle cable in. What a difference from the 18 year old original. Anyway, what is this plate for and where does it go?

That thin plate holds the cable in place at the firewall on the inside. Follow the cable from the pedal to the firewall and you will see where your old one is.

That is the one that came off the car. The new cable didn't come with one. Doesn't seem like it does anything..

It goes inside the car where the cable comes through the firewall. Unsure if it's just a grommet to seal the engine area off from the inside, or if it helps stablize the cable at all.

I've circled it in this pic when i had my dash off. You can see it behind the throttle arm.

So its supposed to just hook onto the cable where the sleeve comes through the firewall and sit flush on the firewall? I'll try and throw it on when I get a chance.

If i remember, it slides over the end of the plastic sheath and then a small brack clip locks it in place. It's kinda like a grommet.

I lost the lock piece so I guess it can't go back on. But were you saying it goes on the actual pedal or at the firewall?
