Throw me some ideas for a stripped down street car

Picked up a 86 model 4 cyl auto car, thinking about gutting the insides and making a stripped down hot rod, something worth driving on a road course and such if the occasion ever comes about, suggestions?? I want to keep the idea as low budget as possible and street legal

Go for it. I'm building one right now with a C6 for the straight line. Gets driven everyday. Completely stripped.

I had thought about building one for straight line but I think I'd like to have something with good street manners, probably run a same size wheels and tires on each corner with a decent suspension
