throw out bearing

can someone explain how the throwout bearing works in a t5? i know its purpose I just don't understand how it works because I have a t5 and the bellhousing and its mechanical with cable but where does the cable attach to? am i missing something? thanks for the help

+1 The throw-out bearing attaches to the fork. The fork attaches to a pivot stud. The cable attaches to the other end of the fork which sticks out of the bellhousing on the drivers side.
