Since I bought my car, my gears have been a bit difficult to get into. Sometimes it's hard to even get it into second. When i shift fast, i even miss second sometimes because it wont go in. I have a Hurst short throw shifter, and I have heard a few other people have the same problem, so thats what i always thought the problem was, and I plan on replacing it with a pro 5.0 to fix the rough shifting.
However, sometimes i notice a little squealing noise coming from my tranny, usually when it's a really hot day and my car has been running for a while. I think this might be the throwout bearing, and i've thought maybe that's what is making it so hard to get into gears.
Usually i don't hear the squealing noise, but it is still always hard to get into gear. What does this sound like to you guys? Is it the hurst shifter or the throwout bearing going bad?
