throwout bearing squealing?

As of last night, I have a quiet but noticeable high-pitched squealing noise when my car is running, both in neutral and in gear. It disappears as soon as I push the clutch pedal slightly in. Think it's the TOB? I've heard a shot of white lithium grease into the bellhousing onto the TOB will fix that. I wanna get this done ASAP because I'm driving three hours to the Rocky Mountain Mustang Roundup tomorrow, and this is gonna bug me.

Just what I need, another crazy engine sound.....ticky lifters, whiny power steering, and now this.

yeah it sounds like the TOB. Mines a bit noisy in the SVO and does as you've described. I don't think you can actually lubricate the bearing inside the TOB race by shooting lithium at it from the clutch fork opening. And you might get some splash on your clutch pressure plate so be careful trying that.
You'll probably need to break down and do a 2 hour job dropping the tranny, replacing the bearing, lifting it back in. It's not hard at all.

I just replaced mine last week, quiet as can be(besides the power steering and ticking lifter(s) :p ). When u do the change, make sure to grease everything except the clutch and flywheel or else your gonna be back there real soon.

Everything includes the main shaft where the bearing resides and teh little swivle ball deal that the fork balances on. Also , to get the fork out you hafta remove the linkage from it...
Tip: when you put it back make sure everything is taunt (IE:the little metal ball at the end of the cable in its holder) before you try to connect clutch cable.

Adjusted my FWA because my gears weren't engaging right (cable may be stretched or something, I dunno) and now the TOB doesn't squeal anymore. I'm beginning to fear my driveline right now....I have a bad feeling that something major is gonna blow as soon as I drop $350 on tires this week. :(
