Got in the garage today and found that the dizzy was 1 tooth off and my fuel pressure was at about 35 at idle and would actually drop if held at higher RPM.

Put the regulator in and adjusted to 40 PSI, re-stabbed the dizzy and timed to 15* base timing and life is good. Just wanted to say thanks to all who chimed in when i needed so encouragement.:nice:

Seems to pull really hard down low and through the mid range, Going to the track next Wednesday to she what she has.

Doesn't matter how you describe the problem or cure - bottom line is it got cured and you can now enjoy it. Best of luck at the track.

Thanks for all your help.......It still is not what i thought it would be, I will have to fine tune it at the track and see what i can do. Maybe its just that the power range is a little differnt, who knows. I enjoy fussing with it:nice:

i haven almsot an identical combo. thumpers, tmoss and i have a B-cam advanced 4 degrees.

around 40 psi of FP at idle with line off and plugged has worked best for me.
i am also running around 15deg base timing. i had the same issues. i had to really work with timing a FP to dial it in. the fp and timing setting work great for a stock engine, but need tweaking when u up the ante with better flowing heads and intake and cam, mine runs great and i am sure yours does too!

mine starts pulling hard around 3k and pulls all the way to 5500-5600 and screams lol

and u need to get setup with a new MAF and TB. i am still running a stock TB(not for long) but i did upgrade my MAF, i got the vortech (same as C&L) on summit for cheap. calibrated for 19lbers and its 73mm i did notice a small differencer, not a whole lot in the SOTP, since i am still sucking air through the stock TB. but i could tell the engine was breathing a tad bit better.

Once i get a bigger TB, 70 i decided on i hope to feel a small gain, the TB will be able to handle the more airflow the MAF is giving. just got to try and see.

good luck. get those track times so i can know what to expect with my combo.
