TICKINg NOISe....

Ok! Im not going to lie, i was driving my car pretty hard last night. As i came to a red light, my car started bogging and making this ticking sound. When i got home I tried to figure out where the noise was coming from and im pretty sure its coming from one of my heads. What does this mean. Is there something wrong?? i started my car up this morning and took it for a spin and it sounded normal. I just want to know if i should be worried?...

Probably a rocker ticking or a small header gasket leak. When the car cooled down and all the parts contracted it may have solved the noise issue.

my dad had a similar problem in his 66 f-100....would up being a plug backing out.....was fin when it was cold, but when she got warm you could hear it.

Check your oil pressure now!

Pull your valve covers and check for bent push rods. If you find any then replace them all, and put in better valve springs, or lay off the "ran it pretty hard" setting!
