Ever since I have put my x-pipe on my car, there has been a slight ticking sound coming from it below 1,500 rpm. Above that it goes away. My friends 91 GT with the same x-pipe also exhibits this behavior. Does this sound like a leak or is it common for catted x-pipes to do this?

Sounds like a leak. I'm pretty sure I have a header leak on the passenger side, it ticks, but only below 2000 or so. Above that, and the exhaust usually drowns it out to where it's not heard. Check your flanges, and make sure the header to mid-pipe gasket is on (I think there is only 1 for ours, the passenger side).

we dont have gaskets from the headers to the mid-pipe but you could try some copper rtv where the ball from the header meets the x pipe if its small that should seal it.

Are you sure? I'm almost positive mine did, or was it my friends 2000 GT? Oh geez, now I don't remember. But either way, check your flanges, they might not be seated against each other good.
