ticking sound with o/r h-pipe

I have always had a ticking sound even before I bolted on my new offroad h-pipe. Kind of like an injector click or even a ticking valve, but it comes from lower down and back like an exhaust leak, but I was never able to find one. Is this a normal sound. I have heard before that offroad pipes make a whooshing/ticking sound from where the H piece is and that is where it sounds like it's coming from. People say you can hear the valvetrain chatter more because of no muffling from the cats. If this is normal then I won't worry about it, but if no one else has experienced this then I guess I have a tricky leak somewhere. It only does it when it's under load, and you can only hear it really good with the windows up or when your driving by something like a guard rail or fence and you get that reflection back. I know stuff like that amplifies the noise, because when I get to open road you can't really even hear it unless your really trying to pick it out.

Well I just took everything apart again and checked the gasket and realigned all the ball and cup fittings and tightened it back down and it's still there, so I guess it's the same old tick I've always had. Maybe I've got a leaky header gasket, but I am not about to jump into that any time soon, they are a pain to get to. I guess it's just a normal valvetrain sound it's just amplified with no cats.

I have the same tick....I really hear it if I am @ a drive-through. I am gonna re-do my exhaust soon so hopefully that takes care of it. It has been getting worse over time. Never use to notice it at all before the Off road H got put on.

Its the sounds of the valves resonating withing the pipes is what your hearing.

I just got back from a local exhaust company, they completely checked it from headers to tailpipes and there was absolutely no leaks. He said it was just a normal sound with no cats that you could hear the valves chatter more. But he said there were no leaks, so I guess its just normal. Like I said, I had it before the pipe was put in, just not as loud. Since the exhaust is much louder I guess the associated noises are louder too. Thanks for the input guys.

I beleive CeSaR333 is right. I noticed the same thing when I installed my h-pipes and Lifted up the car started it up and noticed that the sound came from the hpipes. It just resonates. So the valve train noise just gets louder when you install the o/r h pipes.
