Tilt in a '91?

Well I have researched this little project and I only have a few questions:
1) It's a straight up swap, but the electronic need to be swapped too.
2) Is the gauge cluster (black arounf the gauges, that hold the light switches etc...) the same from 87-89 -- 90-93?
3) Does the priest collar line up properly after the swap?

A friend of mine swears the priest collar will be off and the gauge clusgters are different. I want to do this swap but if it's not going to look right I'll live with the school bus wheel.

I have a tilt column and want to put it in my 91. I know the dash on the 87-89 is different - it has information lights on the bottom right hand corner and the clusters themselves are laid out different. As for the collar, I havent had the columns side by side yet, but im hoping it will mount up the same.

The collar behind the wheel is different for the '90-'93 models. Frankenstang's interior is about 99% from a '90 Mustang, but the steering wheel is out of an '87-'89 model and it looks way weird because of the collar around the steering column being so much bigger. (No offense, Frankie. ) The '90 models had such a huge friggin' airbag on the steering wheel that the larger collar behind the wheel isn't as visible, so the size difference doesn't stick out. The collar on my '89 notch is significantly smaller.

havent looked at the two in a while but why not just swap the 91 steering wheel on the tilt column. Extend the wires and route them so when you use the tilt, they are unaffected.

First, I hate the the 90-93 steering wheel. Second, I hate where the wheel sits, way too high, and the wheel is too big. Third, my airbag system is no more, no senssrs, wires etc... I want to at least swap the tilt in and put a nice Grant/Momo on.

What you're saying is, if I make the swap, it will fit, but it wil never look right with the priest collar? Anyone have any pics? I don't see why if I use a, 89 column, 89 priest collar, and 89 gauge trim, it will look wrong? Are the actual dashes between the 80's and 90's different (beside the shade fo gray)?

I installed a 89 dash in my 90 including the tilt column. as long as you replace everything complete then it fits no problem. Everything mounts the same. The priest collar looks fine I think. i will try to get a picture but dont hold your breath Im horrible about getting the pics uploaded.
