TILT steering help

I searched for the answer but no luck. I have a 93 stang and already pulled out the column. I have a column from an 87 but the steering shaft at the bottom is shorter than on my original one. Now I'm stuck. Am I missing something or will this not work?

It will work just fine, you need to pull out the intermediate shaft, put something through the slot in the shaft, stand on the steering wheel and pull hard. They are always very tight and hard to move.
