So over the past couple of weeks it feels like my car is not pulling as hard as it use too, from about 2500 to 5800rpm. Seems to make a lot of noise but lack the snap it use to have. It has 90,000 miles on the stock clutch and was planing to upgrade anyway.

Heres what it does,

Today traveling in 1st about 2500 rpm, I step on it and if feels as though I am getting wheelspin, kinda shutter/wheel hop for a brief second then I accelerate. I mean I could I be spinning the tires, I had the T/C off.

More and more slippage when starting at a stop light or on the hill I live on. Like more delay when I let the clutch out to forward motion. I use to chirp the tires at the stop sign on my hill by accident, but now I have to try to do it.

Thanks

Well update,

It is wheelspin, which I could not believe but 260 hp may seem low to me but its actually quite a bit for those rear 245's. I was on the same stretch of road, which is stop sign to on ramp and this time had the T/C on and what you know, the little green wheel pops right up plus the added assurance of rubber dust behind the rear wheels. Guess I have gotten use to the throttle a little to much. From now on, a more liner throttle, no more mashing.

With the 2nd, I probably have just gotten use to the clutch. So use to thinking that its the car, but its actually me. Who would have thought?

On a side subject

I am on the tract to pick up a vortech for my stang this summer. Can I use the stock clutch or I am looking at the ford racing King Cobra?

Thanks

The stock clutch can handle a good amount of power but that's a lot of miles on the stock clutch, it might be a good time to upgrade even if you don't go with a blower. The king cobra is a great street/strip clutch with almost stock pedal feel, however depending on how hard you beat on your car, it does tend to heat up after some abuse so if you are at the track all day you will have to give it some cool down time between passes, or it will start slipping. Spend the extra $100 or so and get a centerforce dual friction, best clutch I have ever used. Great pedal action and damn it grabs, you will be really happy with it everyone I know who has or had one has nothing but good to say.

+1 on the Centerforce Dual Friction. I have a Cobra clutch in mine now and I love it.
