I'm going to have up to $2,000 to spend on my car if I choose to go that much which I'd like to keep as low as possible. So far I've come up with this list of stuff and would like some imput. Just going to round the numbers off.

Bullitt Suspension - $400
MM LCA - $260
MM CC Plates- $200
FRPP 3.73's - $150
Ratch 8.8 rebuild - $120
Trac Loc rebuild - $45
Labor to rebuild 8.8 $200

I need new shocks/struts and a 1" drop is going to be just right around where I live. Do I need the Steeda Balljoints beings I'm lowering it about 1" or will stockers be ok til they go out?

Also I need to know if it's worth the couple hunderd extra for the bassani SS exhaust vs their aluminized and if www.ninosport.com is a good place to buy from.

i believe ninosport is a decent company, and as far as your suspension mods go, you would probably be fine just going with like a ford c spring and keep the factory shocks for now until you can save up for some bilsteins. With the c springs, you should be able to do without the camber plates. What year is your car, how many miles? 5 speed or auto? You may not need to rebuild your trac loc unless its not working right. Some of your money may be better spent in other places. Like a midpipe, tune, or whatever else you may want.

Don't forget about labor of installing those parts.

I already have the eibach pro-kit and bilsteins and MM c/c plates are going on soon. I'll let you know what my Dad thinks of them when he picks up my car.

Originally I had been against the bullitt suspension set up as I owned a bullitt and I didnt remember being all that impressed with how it handled/rode, however, a friend of mine with a 97 GT just did the bullitt susp package and it did make a HUGE diference... And for the price I think it is probably your best route. You can go with the ford c springs but I dont think it would really do that much other than enhance aesthetics... He also did the lower control arms and the cc plates at the same time, however I dont remember what brand he went with... So I would say that would be money well spent. I would go with the exact same set up as you have in mind if my funds allowed. You dont need to do your ball joints with these mods, however my friend with the 97 said that he had wished he had also done the bump/steer kit at the same time, so you may want to consider that (approx $100).

The 3:73's is definately a good choice, I am sure you have read all the threads about gears... So this is another mod that I would definately recomend. As far as the trac lock/ratch rebuild its probably a good idea to go ahead and do it while they are in there, but like mentioned before if it is working correctly by no means necessary. How many miles are on your car? If its under 75k I would probably use that $165.00 elsewhere.

As far as the SS Bassani kit being worth the extra $200.00, I would say no. Once again this is also the cat back kit I will be going with, and after all the reseach I did I have decided to go with the Aluminized. Reason being the sound will be exactly the same, and although the SS may be good for life, how long are you going to own the car? The aluminized should be good for at least 10 years I should think.

So sorry for the long post, but I think you are definately going in the right direction.

Save $2000 more, and buy a supercharger :nice:

Best bang for the buck.

I'd agree there but this is stuff that needs to be done.

It has just shy of 83k on the clock now. and everything is pretty much factory on the car. I've owned it since 72k. I've rode in a 94 GT with pretty much what I listed above and it felt 100x better then my car handling and driving wise. Shocks/struts and springs I can do myself, the only thing labor wise to pay for would be getting the rear end done correctly.

I figured with them being in there to do the gears I'd have the trac-lock rebuilt cause it's not much more to get it done with the gears anyways. The car is making noise from the rear when I only drive it to work which is 3 miles and the more I drive the louder it gets when going around corners.

I'm planning on keeping the car as long as I can cause I love it. I'm just trying to get what needs to be replaced 1st then do what I want afterwards. I might go aluminzed cause it's cheaper and I'm not going to drive it durning the winter at all.
