Just dropped in new 347 and need to set timing. It has comp xe274 cam, performer rpm intake, ready to run distrib, and trickflow heads. Should I use stock 302 timing settings? Thanks

Once you deviate from stock throw the factory recommendations out the window. Every engine is different. Initial advance, vacuum advance, total mechanical, rate at which mechinical comes in - they all have to be experimented with to find the optimum.

Usually a bigger cam likes more initial (I run 15 degrees) and a fast advance curve. When you run more initial you usually have to restrict the mechanical advance to keep from having too much total.
