my car runs realy good but wen i set the timeing for ad 14 degrees put the chip back in and tighten dis bolt then start it up and recheck the timing its at advanced 24 degrees at idle. I prety sure im doing the timing right i set the gun for 14 ad then point at zero on dampner right

You probably are doing it right-after you put the spout connector back in, the computer will advance the timing. I never use the advance, I just keep the advance at zero and turn the dizzy until it gets to the markings I want...

It is normal for the computer to advance timing 10* just from putting the SPOUT back in.

You can also paint the 14* line on your balancer and set your timing light to 0 and time it that way. Some guns are not very accurate (not that yours isnt - mine is off by a degree or two).

And another tip: set your timing with the SPOUT out. Then tighten the dizzy hold-down bolt. Then recheck it - the dizzy can rotate as you tighten the hold down and will change your setting a degree or two.

Good luck.
