Timing chain/gears.. what to get?

not a big deal if you don't have the rubber gasket. fyi you DO NOT have to touch any of the oil pan bolts except the 4 that go through the bottom of the timing cover. NAPA sells a gasket kit for this application that will come with two corners to replace thge corners of the oil pan gasket that will usually need to be replaced when doing this project. just use them and some black rtv on the corner where the block, timing cover, and oil pan meet. also if you want you can use a thin coat of rtv on the corner gaskets themselves if it will make you feel better.

Thanks for the info. I know the oil pan gasket isn't a big deal and I don't have to lower the pan to do this project. I was just asking if I might have the one-piece rubber seal already, which would be one project I wouldn't have to tackle since it sounds like a PITA to swap that gasket. Is the stock gasket rubber then? Is there any way to tell what gasket I have without dropping the pan to have a look myself? haha
