Timing Chain Issue?

I recently installed a timing chain and gears on a 67 289. Before I installed the chain and gears, I was able to easily turn the motor over manually using the big bolt on the crank. Since I installed the new chain, I can no longer turn the motor over using the same big bolt method. Did I screw something up? The motor is out of the car so this would be the time to address this if this is an issue. Also, there is very little to no slack in the chain.

Please help!
 
Stop, dont go any farther till you check that your oil excentric is properly installed. I once did exactly that, and wound up with a bunch of aluminum shavings in the oil pan, from the excentric rubbing against the timing cover.
If thats not it check around, further, shouldent be any extra friction.

Did you line up the dots on the timing gears before you bolted it together? I hope you don't have a piston bumped up into a valve. The chain should have no slack or it would be jumping teeth on you.
