TIming Pointer and Clutch Quadrant opinions please

If I cant find a stock replacement timing pointer, what kind should i get? i see some adjustable ones, but i dont really know why i need an adjustable one, and if i do, which brand to go with

Also, i need to get an adjustable clutch quadrant & cable. I have tried to research as much as i could on here, but trying to filter through all the threads gave me a migraine. Ive heard something about the coloring on the ends meaning different things and whatnot so could someone school me on what ill need?

car is a 1991 LX, motor is a 306, tranny is a stock t-5 rebuilt with hanlon internals, clutch is a super king cobra, new HD clutch fork, new PP and T/O bearing. If you need any more info, just let me know.

I personally have been through numerous adjustable cables. All the ones I have ever used, stretch and are hard to keep adjusted. I ended up just going with a Factory Ford Cable, with a firewall adjuster and quadrant from steeda... never had another problem out of it. I dont know why you would need an adjustable timing pointer for the life of me... ;-)

I thought the factory ford cable was un-adjustable though... or is the firewall adjuster what thats used for??

The factory is not adjustable, but ford racing does have it's own adjustable cable. I personally would go with a micro kit adjustable kit from fiore performance. I love mine.
The whole kit would include a quad, cable and firewall adjuster.

Firewall adjuster in simple so you dont have to get under the car every time it needs to be adjusted, just turn the nob on the firewall.

I purchased a timing pointer from summit, their own brand, a copy of the pointer ford racing offers. It looks good.
