i have a 93 2.3 with an 88 turbo coupe turbo set up. I used my original motor and stock wiring harness ( i know that the motor will blow up if i but to much boost to it). i am wondering what i need to get or do to retard the timing. Should i get a MSD boost retard system or should i get an adjustible cam gear. i will be getting a hotter cam for the car. I have the stock spark plugs in, should i go get some lower temp ones? I am running 5 lbs of boost and there is alittle bit of pingin not much but im sure if i get the timing set up it will be alittle quicker.

Well you need more fuel under boost too, but what computer you runnin? Mustang or LA3 from turbo coupe?
Wich injectors?

If you run the MSD with boost retard you could run more boost but you still need more fuel and could also use forged pistons if you want to see 10 lbs boost.

Forget the hot cam at this point there is more power in getting it set-up right.

I have a 190 walbro fuel pump in and 19 lb injects with a fuel pressure reg with a 60mm mass air i am using the stock mustang computer. Im going to keep the boost around 6lbs till i get my other motor built. What about an adjustable cam gear?

What about an adj cam gear?
I don't know what cam you are using.
Stock cam is pretty good to red line of 6000 so unless you want to bring it on early or late and remove rev limit?
It shouldn't be your priority right now.

With 19's you still need more fuel, and even more under boost so run as much static fuel press as your idle will allow.

I can run 48lbs easy with stock 36'ers.
