After changing my intake I just checked my timing.. And as long as I have things right, it's WWWWAAAYYYY off.

The wire you're suppost to hook it onto is #1 correct? Being the cylinder on the passenger side closest to the headlights?

If that's correct, I'm running 180* of timing with no knocking or anything :-x

My check engine light is on, I'm guessing the timing is the reason.

Am I right about which cylinder?

pull out the no 1 sparkplug. then turn the engine over by hand until you hear the air blow out of the sparkplug hole. when you hear it start to come out, look at the timing markers on the balancer. then take the cap off. if the rotor is pointing almost straight at the upper intake then your timing is close. if its pointing at the radiator then is 180 degrees off.

What makes you think the timing is out by 180 degrees? That makes no sense. Without going and looking at the timing marks on the HB I'd be surprised that they go beyond 20*. Further if it was out 180* the engine wouldn't run. Did you pull the spout plug/cap (or whatever it's called, just another seniors moment)? Can't obtain a proper timing reading with it stilled plugged in.

I pulled out the spout, hooked up the timing light to the 1st cylinder, started the engine, let it warm up a little, and fired the light at the HB. The HB didn't read anything so I adjusted the timing light to read it [one of those snap-on ones] and it read 180.

So you're reading the timing from the digital display on the timing light? If that's the case I can't offer a fix other than to suggest that there might be a setting for different engine configurations such as 4 , 6 , 8 cylinders. The timing marks are on the HB so I would check from the top and bottom side if you can't easily rotate the crank until you see the marks then highlight them with white chalk.
