Tint problem

I finally got my windows tinted, but after about 2 weeks or so, there are scratches on the front windows in the tint a couple of inches from the front of the window, very light, but several of them about equaling about an inch wide (near the mirror). I paid $250 to get my windows tinted and am a little pissed that this is happening, to both windows btw. I took the door panel off and found nothing rubbing the window that I could see. I dont know what to do but this is not cool. Should I go to a glass shop to see if they can figure it out? Anyone else have this problem? I dont know what im going to do with the place that tinted my windows, i guess it's not their fault so they aren't liable to fix it.

Did you wait to roll them down?? Have you used any cleaners in the first week? The shop should have given you a list of instructions of to dos and not to dos. I got mine done for 140 with lifetime warranty. The shop didnt offer one?

oops well i see its been 2 weeks since you had em done. usually those problems happen sooner. You should definetly find out from the shop, bring it back and see what they say.

My passenger side tint got scratched because the tint people didn't fix the inside rubber piece. I didn't realize our car had two...so made sure the felt was clean and all. I even took my door panel off. Finally I looked past the felt and realized the rubber part under that was inside out still...fixed that after I had my tint redone (for free....since it was coming off, place I went first time did a horrible job).

Scratch free now for a few months.

Other than that.....make sure nothing inside your door panel, the window mechanism isn't scratching it. I think there's a writeup on mustangworld about something like that.

I believe this happens when the felt on the roller where's out. My friend had the same problem in his car. Turned out the roller was worn out and scratching the glass. Not good but thats Ford quality for you. :nono: When i put my window down in my 03 it makes a noise. Car only has 20,000 miles on it and is not a daily driver. Ford :nonono:

I dont think the felt is worn out, I ran my finger on it and it feels fine, plus, why would it wear out in one spot, about an inch wide. I did wait the 24 hours or so to roll the windows down. Im not sure what to do, guess that I will go back to the shop and see what they say. How hard is it to replace the inside felt on the window?
