The dots on my back glass look like ass from the outside. I just tinted my drivers side window and Im gonna do the other side tommorrow. But I am going to take it in to get the eyebrow and the back done.

So how did you tint over the dots?

BTW its easy as hell to tint your own windows on a Mustang. There is no window frame which makes it SO much easier.

A lot of people will use a type of vinyl over that section, or they make a special paint for it. I had mine painted, and you don't even notice it, plus it looks awesome from the outside.....

I have see a few with the vinyl, and they came out well too.

I have a strip of black vinyl accross the outside of mine. You can hardly even tell it's there.

I've heard of people sanding them with a really fine (like 2000 grit) sandpaper also. Tinting the rear window in a Mustang is a huge PITA. I tried to do it once, had more bubbles and creases in it than I could handle, tore it back off, and 7 years later, still have no tint after that experience.

Does it also go down along the sides?

Thats why Im not even going to attempt the back. I cant really find tint that is big enough, plus I can hardly fit back there.

How dark is everyones tint. I put 5% all around. Illegal I know, but it looks cool as **** and I can still see fine through it.

Nope, that's how it was from the factory.

My tint's 22% all around.

Ok well I might have to put vinyl over the sides too, it looks kinda bad there too.

I don't know how it's done, but there are tinters that can do those back windows flawlessly. I'll see if I can find out how they do it.

Vinyl strip is the way to go, unless you feel like sanding them down, which I would think would take a really long time

my mustang has vinyl on the dots, 5% on the back 3 and 20% (legal limit) on the drivers and pass. side window.

My Olds has a vinyl stip as well on its back window with 5% on back window, qtr windows, back two door windows, and 20% on the driver and pass. side.

My mustand had no vinyl on the tint it had when I bought it and it looked like arse. The tint was peeling off at the bubbles and just looked bad.

I am more than likely just going to do the vinyl strip on the back, and tint it to either 5% or 2.5%

I currently have 5% on my sode windows. Now I just need to do the quater windows and get the back and eyebrow done.

ah, that's a good idea! i just got mine re-tinted last weekend (20% all around) and it looks like @$s!!!111 on the back window, over the dots.

maybe i'll try the spray-on tint from vht, though--been wanting to tint my tail lights, and i can do the back window dots and the ones on the quarter windows, too.
