I'm broke. Electric fans and new radiators are not an option. I am changing the oil and coolant, and toping off anything else that needs it. What mixture should I run coolant wise? Does Watter Wetter work? I'm in NYC and it's around 50 now, getting warmer.. It's a daily driver. Thanks.

i never noticed any differance running water wetter. What I always do is drill 2 1/8" holes in the thermostat. runs cool!

hey i am the one who should be asking this. i should have not done what i did and told the machinist .060 over. going down the road i would be at around 190 and 230. that was an 82 truck with the c6 auto. it had a big 3 core radiator and 2 tranny coolers. no thermo and no fan shroud. i had a straight fan with no clutch so it turned all the time. now i dropped this motor in my stang and have the same fan but with a long spacer and a shroud with the same big radiator that needs to be rodded out.(i had to use the cutting torch but hey it still looks stock) the fan is about 3/4-1 inch away from the radiator and i have 160 or 180 thermo and a manual tranny so that will keep it cooler right there. i used straight water so i am going to try a mix. i live in houston and it is kinda hot now. i have not driven it yet so i really don't know.i am still waiting for the clutch pedal assembly deal to work out.
