Ok. I finally got my nitrous kit for my 347. I got the Zex "wet" kit. The instructions look thorough and straight to it. However we all know how this ***** goes. Is there anything I need to know or will need. It seems to be a complete kit and even came with wire taps, fuel line taps, shrader valve core removal tool, a tap for the nozzle to go in a cia. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

A nitrous install is a pretty painless thing to do. It is very straight forward. the only thing i have heard peeps say about efi nos install is how to tie into fuel system is a little trickey. i believe many peeps that do it need a aftermarket fuel pressure regulator.

Here are the problems that I ran into when putting on my Trickflow kit.

The fuel rail to fuel solenoid hose wasn't long enough. Well it was but the only place that I could have mounted the fuel solenoid was right under the throttle body. Had to get a longer hose but it worked out for the best cause I could route the hose more to my liking with the added length.

Had to fab my own solenoid mounting brackets. The brackets that came with the kit I couldn't make work to my liking so I got a sheet of aluminum sheet metal and cut out a piece, drilled it out and mounted my solenoids on it. I attached it to the pinch well on the firewall. Looking back I should have bent a 90 degree bend on the end and mounted it directly to the fire wall vs the pinch weld. Easier to remove if you need to work on anything.

My nitrous feed line was long enough but just barely.

I dropped the fuel tank so that I could mount the bottle brackets to the trunk floor and drill a hole for the nitrous feed line to go through. I had to get a grommet for the hole since the kit didn't come with one. I used a pcv valve cover grommet for mine since it was handy at the parts store.

I installed an MSD window switch set for 3000 on 5800 off just for safety.

Other than those things the install was pretty straight forward and not overly difficult. I took me a weekend cause I just kinda worked on it here and there.

Not hard stuff to do I just should have layed everything out and checked hose lengths and such. It sucks having to stop what you are doing to run to the speed shop to get something. But it is all in. Put the purge kit and bottle heater in early this last week hope to get it out to the track next week and get some passes in.

Since I have all of my solenoids mounted on a plate along the pinch weld my purge discharge tube peeks out between the back edge of the hood and the cowl vent.
Hood up

Hood closed. You can see just the little tip of the brass tube sticking up

The car needs a repaint. The hood is the only bad area other than just overall fading. The whole hood is pretty much like the part that you see in the pic. It was like that when I got the car. The only thing I can think of is a combination of heat from the engine and south Florida sun. The car was from Miami. I am gonna repaint it probably within the next month.

Is the hood fiberglass? It almost looks like fiberglas webbing coming through ...

Nope. Stock steel hood. I am gonna sand the car down and repaint it soon. I already did the lower titanium trim since the previous owner painted it with spray can gray.
