I have a set of almost perfect condition 225/55 16 bridgestone S-02's mounted on ponies that I am currently using on my Mustang. Driving on these tires is like driving on ice if i get on it at all. My car cannot hook whatsoever.
Without changing wheels, the best tire I can find that will fit is a 245/50 16 nitto drag radial. I have heard good things about these tires, but after the few mods that I'm planning this year, I'm hoping for around 350 rwhp and I don't want to waste my money on tires that will put me right back where I am now.
Would 245 drag radials really hook well?
The tires have to be able to be run on the street, I will have the car out in the rain occaisonally, and I need them to last for at least the whole summer (maybe 8,000 miles plus track nights).

Thanks a lot everyone.

The Nittos will be your best choice for what you are looking for and they handle decently in the rain, but from what I am told are not as good as the BFGs at the track, but they are better on the street!

From your signature dont look like you have done much on suspension as far as rear end is concerned. If after getting new tires you still cant hook up spend some money on rear suspension mods!

i won't be able to do much for rear suspension stuff til next year. having this motor built drained me for a little while, so i'm just going for a little better traction.
