Wasnt there a early mustang fittment chart on here somewhrere? I have tried the search but all I came up with was the header chart. Well these 245/45/17s are not going to fit the front no matter what I do so if anyone needs to two new TTIIs with new Goodyear eagles let me know. I was really hoping to have the same size all the way around

just take the tires off and save them for the rear and buy new ones for the front. Youll lose money if you try to sell them

Well....considering I run 245 40 17 on mine without rolled fenders I would be interested to know what modifications you had done to your car that made you think you could run them in the first place?

You need the shelby drop and you need a very aggresive alignment. The 45 series is tough though. I ran 235 45 17 for the logest time and at lot less agreesive alignment and never had a problem either.

The car has was wrecked back in high school and now the drivers side is so bad I cant sit still and steer right or left. I bought this wheel & tire combo 7 years ago when it was the new thing to do. Now that I have everything completed and she can move under her own power its easy to see I am going to have to go down in wheel and tire size. The sad part is the passenger side looks like it would work. I have 620 springs and Granada spindles with Baer's 13" track kit. Dodgestang, your response confuses me... you say whay would I think it would work yet you have run them?

Right....they won't fit stock...so what mods had you done to the car to think they would fit?

You need the shelby drop
You need a lot of tip on the tire (aka aggressive alignment)
And with the 45 profile (as opposed to my 40 profile) you might have to roll the lip

Well the fenders are rolled, the 620 springs were installed 10 years ago when I did the front end but I have not done the shelby drop. Are you saying that will help? I even tried those screw in spacers but that didnt help at all.

well...maybe I'm not understanding what the problem is.

You have 17x8 wheels with 4.75 backspacing?

17x8 with 4.75 backspacing. Like I said the passenger side looks much better than the drivers.

I just went out there and the drivers side is sticking out past the fender and the passenger side is just inside the fender.....I took some pics and will post them here in a minute.

Its the first 4 pictures.

before you waste anymore time or money, get that fame checked and the suspension. Thats the first and only thing you need to do

wow those brakes look perrrrty...

nick (if i may call you that), what is the ride height from centerline of your wheels to the top of the fender? or to the ground, whichever..cause my car seems a lot lower and more agressive looking than other 65's. and the specs i've found on links.vintage-mustang.com about ride height shows my car like 2" lower than they say. so i am just curious if i did a shell bee drop if it would be negative to my car...anyway, thanks and sorry for jackinga little but it might help too..

Yes, there seems to be a noticeable difference in how much tire is sticking out of the wheelwell from side to side. Are you certain you didn't get a 4.25" backspace on one of the rims? Is it possible one of your fenders has oil canned? If "no" to the above, check the frame.

It means the fenders are straight, not bowed in or out around the wheel well.
