tire psi confused !

I keep mine at 30 front and back. I stick with what ford recommends if you have stock tires.

current running
BFGoodrich g-Force T/A KDWS 245/45/17 44max psi Front
Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 245/45/17 44 max psi Rear.

so still stick with ford recomment ?

Definatly drop them.

While it is at the max psi you can put in the tire, it is still overinflated. That will result in acclerated tread wear in the middle of the tire. Drop it down to 32psi and give your tires some more life.

i run 245-45-17 / 275-40-17 coopers, max psi is 51, i run 50psi all around........

Good God mangski, I bet your car feels like a wooden plank going down the road...:D

Seriously, your tread will start to dissapear in the middle of your tires too. They key is to find a PSI that has a broad contact patch. To low a PSI, the outside of your tread wears quicker. Too much PSI, the middle of the tread wears quicker. Just right PSI, everyone is happy, lol.

Just ask me how I know about all this...:nonono:

hmm. it does ride rely hard, maybe ill let a few pounds out, the tread wear is perfect, but my front tires are almost gone on the edges but good in the center:shrug:, i realy need cc plates and a bumpsteer kit...........

Draw a thick line in chalk across the tire and then drive/move it or do a quick burn out. If the outsides are left add pressure, and vice versa. There's no way you should be running 44-50psi unless you have potholes the size of swimming pools in your town.

I run like 30-33 front and 27-30 back.

Center tread might be allright because your excessive negative camber is wearing the inside edges of your tires.

Mine was like that when I first got it before I switched springs and had it aligned.

You will likely notice the tread wear problem on the rears first though, esp. if you have a led foot.

 I guess I should go inflate my tires then...:(

Good advice on the chalk test, I thought of that after I posted. It's pretty much fool proof.

I run 33/34 up front, 32 in the rear. I like the front having a few PSI more, the Exclaim's are a little lazy when pushed hard and need some extra stiffness.
