I have 245/40/18 on a 98cobra with eiback springs, I am wanting to go a little wider with the 2 rear wheels and wand to keep the 2 up front 245/40/18. My question is what size tire to go with that will match the other 2, I would like a 275 width but not sure on the profile, don't know if I need the 40 profile or 35 profile since it is a wider tire, also what type of tires are good street tires and hook ok but not a drag radial, Thanks

Last question first. No street tires hook worth a crap. I've tried. If you want to do some drag racing get two old wheels and put some drag slicks/radials on them and swap them out when needed.

275/40 is the width most people go with on stock width wheels. Just remember to run with about 2-4 lbs less pressure to keep them wearing evenly. I had 255/40's before and wore down the center because of too much air.

Ive heard good things about the Nitto 555's. My friend with a Trans Am's got em and he hooks up good. Goodyear Eagle F1's are good but pricy.

Just wondering if anyone had any pictures of 275/40 18 mounted on wheels or 265/35 18, just trying to get a good idea of which one to go with I dont want a lot of tire sticking out from the rim I heard that the 275 will stick out a little far, I measured my tires width and they appear to be about 9.5inches wide and the 275 are 10.9 inches wide, anyone got any ideas?
