What are good STREET tires that will give better traction but won't make driving in the rain dangerous? Not looking full out drag radials, but somthing that will help my out-of-the-hole acceleration. Any ideas?

GS-D3, AVS Sport, KDW, Pilot Sport, Proxes T1-S, your choice

GS-D3 is the best IMO

I brought my car wearing the doughnut into the local tire place to get one of the stock tires fixed after being impaled by some nails. Since they were not able to repair the tire, I needed to get a new one. But since I have nearly 30k miles on all my tires, I figured I might as well do all four. But this had to be done with tires in stock as I need my car that day (keep in mind, it has the doughnut on it). So I went with the best they had in stock ... Dunlop SP901's. I really like these tires. They seemed to ride softer and quieter than stock Gators, and definitely grippier. Originally I was concerned that I did something stupid being pushed by the heat of the moment, but overall I am happy with the outcome. I believe these Dunlops are the stock rubber for Lexus IS300's ... for whatever that may be worth ...

Just my $0.02... nothing more than that ...

I hyave the Nitto 555's and am very pleased with thier performance. As for the dunlop, my wife has the lexus is300 and those tires were terrible. They replaced them after they were recalled.

Were they SP901's?
Did you think they were terrible prior to them being recalled?
Why and when were they recalled?

I went to Belle Tire today and asked for a quote on the Goodyear GS D-3's. The guys there were trying to talk me out of buying them, they said BFG G-Force T/A KDWS's, and Continental Contact Extreme's are both better tires then the GS D-3. It seemed to me that the guys just didn't want to sell goodyears, almost as if they have a quota on BFG's. Anybody know if they do? Anyway, they didn't convince me, I think I like the GS D-3's the best.

why not drag radials? I have nittos and rain does not affect them one bit! I am very pleased w/ mine. I also have nitto 555 on the front and there pretty good too!
