I'm looking to purchase new tires for my 03 GT stock wheels and would like some opinions about what would be a great everyday daily drive tire.

Falken Ziex ZE-512s are the number one rated performance tire by Consumer Reports magazine and cost $99 each. I have had them for a year now and I like them a lot.

kumho ecsta supra 712's 275 40w 17 all the way around, they are about 100$ a piece, excellent wet/dry traction, and good tire life

I have Nitto 555's and they are the best tires I have ever owned. I have had them over a year and they are hardly wearing. The best part about them is that they don't spin easy when the roads are wet.

I bough these gererals (z-rated) and for the money ($78 a peice) I cannot complain. My GT is supercharged (KB), they spin a little easier than my previous (BFG KDWS, only lasted less than one year and ~15K miles), but I spent $500 on the BFG (which were sticky). They have a much better ride (softer sidewalls) and better tread wear. I only have about 2K miiles on them and so far I love them

As you can see from the replies on this thread, you will never get a real consensus on tire selection. I suggest you decide what you want to spend first and then try to decide on brand and features within your price range.

softer compound=less tread life

harder compound=longer tread life

IMO I trust BF Goodrich KD's + KDW's with my life (and have so before)

i've put about 8000 miles on my firestone firehawk wide oval tires now and i love them... i don't drive in the rain much but when i have they gripped the road really well. it's a smooth riding, quiet tire and has a nice thick rim protector on the side to keep my wheels safe.

Great choice - for us, it was either these or Bridgestone Potenza RE-750s. We ultimately chose the Bridgestones (for both GTs), but neither of these choices is really cheap. You DO, however, get what you pay for. Both of these are great tires, awesome grip wet or dry, great treadlife, low noise, and both are good looking tires...not that tires are supposed to be pretty.
Tire Rack has the Potenza for $163.00 and the GS-D3 for $183.00.
I used their site to help decide what to buy. Check the "Overview" page for these (or any other tires you may be interested in) and you'll see how they are rated (by people who actually bought them). The Bridgestone scored an average of 8.4, while the Goodyear scored 8.6.

Others mentioned above -
BFG g-force T/A KDW - avg score 7.9, price $144.00
BFG g-force T/A KD - avg score 8.2, price $209.00
Kumho Ecsta Supra 712 - avg score 7.5, price $95.00
Firestone Firehawk Wide Oval - avg score n/a, price 135.00
General Exclaim UHP - avg score n/a, price $78.00
