I used the stock TKO shifter with a tri-ax handle for a few thousand miles and then switched over to the Tri-ax shifter. The Tri-ax felt a bit more solid, but it didn't help with the crappy 2-3 shift.
I ran a Tri-ax for years on my T-5 and loved it.... and NEVER missed 3rd gear.
I had the same problem you're having with the Tremec Tri-ax. The offset shift spring for 3rd gear just isn't strong enough. I'd hit in between 1 and 3 on the 2-3 shift more often than I liked. The Pro 5.0 has a stronger offset shift spring which makes it easier to hit the 2-3 shift. As far as your pivot, it's just something to check out. See where your clutch fork is positioned in the window of the bell. If you can gain travel by shimming the pivot ball, I recommend it. All clutches specify a specific air gap for full disengagement at high rpms. Without enough airgap, it'll hurt you on the high rpm shifts. Just something to think about.
