TKO shifter change

Did Tremec change the bolt patterns on thier shifters? I have been looking for a Steeda Tri-Ax or Pro 5.0 for my TKO 600. I know the old 3550 and TKO were the same but some of the newer ones look like they have a different bolt pattern. Anybody know if there has been a change? If so, when did it take place?

I don't believe that the bolt patterns are any different.

One of my friend's put a Tri Ax on his TKO and blew 3rd right after. When he took the thing apart, he noticed an engagement problem that most likely was the cause. He then read about other people having this problem. When he bought his new TKO 600, he used the shifter that came with it.

Now I am not saying they are crappy shifters, I have one myself on my t5, but I find it interesting that Tremec had a new shifter designed when they released these transmissions.

Yes the Tremec 500/600 series transmissions use a different shifter with a different bolt pattern. They are not interchangable with the old 3550 / TKO trannys. I put a Pro5.0 on my new Tremec 600, but it really doesn't feel any better then the shifter that came with it. The shifter on the 500/600 is actually a Hurst billet shifter, and it's a pretty nice piece.
